Research task 4: Purpose and common features of a title sequence

The typical conventions of a title sequence is that it includes the title of the film title, setting, idents, credits of actors and important production, soundtracks and some form of character, together these serve the purpose of enticing the audience to watch the film for it piques the interest and causes them to be curious.

Another important purpose of the title sequence is to create a sense of atomsphere that sets the tone of the whole film and helps the audience to determin what genre the film is, the soundtrack plays an important part in this. Introducing characters is another important role of a title sequence is to introduce a character or characters that are rather relevant to the story later on. The title sequence also allows the audience to know the production company and who distruputed it for it helps these companies build a large fan base and there already existing fan base will watch it.

Sky fall is a really appealing title sequence for it really catches the audiences eye for it is vague, mysterious and unique with its already well known bond brand paired with Adele's well known voice generates an extreme amount of buzz especially since the lyrics show and reveal about the story.
